Off-Campus Community Guidelines

The residents and staff of off-campus housing are a multicultural community of individuals living in established historic communities outlying the campus. We are unique in that we strive to work and live together, learning from one another in an atmosphere of positive contact and mutual respect. We are committed to behaving and expecting others to behave in ways that demonstrate our beliefs about the respectful treatment of each member of our community. We believe that we are individually and collectively responsible for our behavior and are fully accountable for our actions.

All residents have the right if quiet enjoyment of our community, as do our neighbors in the community. To help us achieve this goal, residents must observe the following:

  • Residents and/or their guests shall not make or permit any disturbing noises, including screaming or loud arguing which, at the sole discretion of the Owner, unreasonably interferes with the rights, comforts, or convenience of other residents and neighbors.

  • Residents and/or their guests shall keep the volume of any radios, televisions, stereos, or musical instruments in their apartments sufficiently low at all times so as not to disturb other residents in the building and/or surrounding buildings. The volume of noise that constitutes a violation of this rule shall be left to the sole discretion of the Owner.

  • Any violation of these noise rules, including repeat minor violations of these rules, is a direct violation of the lease and will result in judicial action or eviction.

  • In order to maintain pleasant surroundings in the community, appreciation for the trees, lawns, and public areas is important. Charges will be assessed to residents for any damages.

  • Unregistered or improperly parked vehicles, vehicles with licenses expired over thirty (30) days, and automobiles which are not in running order, will be towed at the expense of the owner of the vehicle.
